Neuro-Set™️ Acupuncture
Acupuncture is one of the oldest, most commonly used procedures in the world. Originating in China over 2500 years ago, Acupuncture has become popular in the United States over the past four decades. It is a natural method of encouraging the body to promote healing and improve functioning. Research has shown that needles in specific Acupuncture points stimulate the nervous system to release chemicals in the muscles, spinal cord, and brain. These substances either change the sensation of pain or they will trigger the release of neurotransmitters and hormones, which influence the body’s own internal regulating system. The improved energy, and bio-chemical balance, produced in Acupuncture results in building a strong resilient immune system, stimulating the body’s natural healing abilities, and promoting health. Scope of Acupuncture Acupuncture is a system that assists these three areas of healthcare:
- Improved health and well-being
- Prevents illnesses
- Treats many medical conditions
Acupuncture has a proven track record of treating a variety of endocrine, circulatory and systemic conditions. Acupuncture can be effective by itself, or it can assist with other types of treatment for many medical and surgical disorders.
Dr. Feldman is the creator of Neuro-Set™ Acupuncture Method in conjunction with a Functional Medicine approach focuses on:
- Treating the cause of health problems by promoting deep cellular detoxification
- Stimulating blood flow
- Activated cellular repair
- Reprogramming and neutralizing overactive Autonomic Neurvous System’s (ANS) response to food, seasonal allergies, chemical sensitivities and environment
- Relaxing musculoskeletal system, nervous tension and treating acute and chronic pain conditions
- Building strong immune resistance
- Balancing hormones
- Bringing the autonomic system back into balance by resetting sympathetic/parasympathetic nervous system from heightened stress response
- Re-establishing the Brain-Immune-Gut (BIG) Connection by stimulating and strengthening the vagal nerve response [hyperlink: The Role of Vagus Nerve in Gut-Brain Connection article]
World Health Organization
The WHO recognizes acupuncture to be beneficial in the treatment of a wide range of medical problems, including:
- Digestive disorders: gastritis, hyperacidity, spastic colon, constipation, diarrhea
- Respiratory disorders: sinusitis, sore throat, bronchitis, asthma, recurrent chest infections
- Neurological and muscular disorders: headache, facial tics, trigeminal neuralgia, neck pain, rib, neuritis, frozen shoulder, tennis elbow, various forms of tendinitis, low back pain, osteoarthritis, sciatica, stroke rehabilitation
- Pain management: fibromyalgia, chronic regional pain syndrome, post-operative pain, dental pain, sinusitis
- Urinary disorders: incontinence, bed wetting, recurrent urinary tract infections
- Women’s health: menstrual disorders, infertility, pregnancy related issues, menopause
- Men’s health: urinary reproductive problems
- General conditions: stress related issues, insomnia, anxiety, depression, addictions, chemotherapy related issues, skin disorders (wound healing, acne), and many other conditions
Current theories on the mechanism of acupuncture
1. Neurotransmitter Theory
Acupuncture affects higher brain areas, stimulating secretion of beta-endorphins and enkephalins in the brain and spinal cord. The release of neurotransmitters influences the immune system and the antinociceptive system. 21, 22, 23
2. Blood Chemistry Theory
Acupuncture affects the blood concentrations of triglycerides, cholesterol, and phospholipids, suggesting , acupuncture can both raise and diminish peripheral blood components, thereby regulating the body toward homeostasis. 23
3. Autonomic Nervous System Theory
Acupuncture stimulates the release of norepinephrine, acetylcholine and several types of opioids, affecting changes in their turnover rate, normalizing the autonomic nervous system and reducing pain. 24, 25
4. Vascular-interstitial Theory
Acupuncture affects the electrical system of the body by creating or enhancing closed-circuit transport issues. This facilitates healing by allowing the transfer of material and electrical energy between normal and injured tissues.
5. Gate Control Theory
Acupuncture activates non-nociceptive receptors that inhibit the transmission of nociceptive signals in the dorsal horn, “gating out” painful stimuli.
Our Method of Healing
We Find The Root Causes For True Healing
Chronic illness can present with different symptoms and challenges so there is no “cookie-cutter” treatment that works for everyone. Instead, our personalized protocols are individualized with a person’s specific focus. This way we are able to address each person’s unique root cause through our functional medicine approach.
